“Here is a boy with five small barley loaves and 2 small fish, but how far will they go among so many?” (John 6:9)

 I thank God for your prayer and support for 5 loaves and 2 fish orchestra. By the grace of God, 5 loaves and 2 fish orchestra, consisting of 29 members from our 2^nd generations and shepherds, was able to show an amazing performance successfully with around 190 attendants. Thank God that Sh. Joshua Lim from Korea came to NJ UBF to serve 5 loaves and 2 fish orchestra so sacrificially as a conductor and Sh. Noah Shin from Korea joined as Euphonium player. Most of all, I thank God for raising up M. Joseph Lee Jr as a conductor who has trained all 5 loaves and 2 fish Orchestra members patiently with the hope of God.  

 Nowadays, many people become scary and fearful due to the unprecedented world economic situation. According to economic statistics issued by the Labor Department, about 11 million people are out of jobs, and the unemployment rate has reached 7.6% in Jan, 2009. Many have lost their jobs, and homes. Many more have become so fearful, not knowing what is going to happen next. Indeed, we are experiencing the unprecedented world economic tsunami in our generation. In this situation, what are we trying to with this small 5 loaves and 2 fish orchestra? It is not professional like the NY philharmonic. But our 5 loaves and 2 fish orchestra demonstrated a great performance, one that could satisfy all attendants’ hunger for hope for the future and for compassion.  Through this performance, our second generations have grown up as men and women of possibility, who can challenge the future in their generation with something they can offer for the glory of God. I do believe that all members of our next generations can do something far greater than what our first generation could do so far. I do believe that the spiritual inheritance of UBF can be passed on from generation to generation since our hope for world salvation is the hope of God for all nations from generation to generation. And music is a good five loaves and two fish which can connect each others among all next generations who are scattered worldwide with one clear identity as a Kingdom of Priest and a Holy Nation.
